Research Ethics & Article Retraction

Publishing is essential for medical and scientific research, but it can be a daunting task for the authors. They must choose relevant research topics, familiarize themselves with the current research, use language that is both subject appropriate yet not so niche the article is unreadable by other disciplines, and ensure the formatting appropriate citation style has been used for the genre in which they wish to publish. The authors must then submit their work to the most appropriate publishing venue for their research. What could go wrong? Plenty. This presentation does not address the issues of grammar and style. Instead, this presentation will address some of the pitfalls that can negatively impact the research process and reputation of authors and offer ways to avoid these dangers. Additionally, the presenters will offer information on how to mitigate damage if the author has already found themselves in a sticky situation.
